LIS ADAMS has enjoyed performing in New York, Boston, and with many area theater groups, playing everything from murderous little old ladies to tap-dancing nuns. Lis appeared in such films as “The World According to Garp” and “Daniel,” and she has been featured in commercial voiceovers for both film and radio. Most recently her voice has toured the country in the award-winning animated film “Unspoken,” and she can be heard as multiple voices in the video game “System Shock 2.” She sings with the award-winning Sweet Adelines International’s Liberty Belle Chorus, and serves in her daytime job as Director of Education at Orchard House, home of Louisa May Alcott.Contact E-mail: adamslis@aol.com

Zele returned to the US after having lived in Athens, Greece for 13 years. While in Greece she taught at international schools and instigated the revival of a small English- speaking theatre company. Since her return, she worked at the Allenberry Playhouse, has shot a commercial, a few student films and an indie short. Kate has acted in theater, television and film since the age of five, and has worked in many of the community theaters in the Boston area. Some of her favorite roles include Sandy in The Prime of Miss Jean Brody, Mrs. Morehead in The Women and Sister Mary Thomasina in Catholic School Girls. She can be seen in several episodes of Showtime’s The Brotherhood, and will soon be seen as one of the many grooms’ mothers in the film Twenty Seven Dresses. Shelley Brown studied acting at SUNY Albany and Tufts University and has performed with theater companies throughout the Boston area for more than 25 years. As a member of the AIR program, she participated in the 2007 Playwrights Platform festival, playing the role of Sarah in Regina Eliot-Ramsey's A Perfect Stranger. Other recent roles include Nurse (The Flu Season, Whistler in the Dark Theater); R ose (Enchanted April, Arlington Friends), Arkadina (The Sea Gull, TheatreZone), Bernarda Alba (The House of Bernarda Alba, TheaterZone), Mrs. Webb (Our Town, Boston Theater Works), Lady Eastlake (The Countess, Nora Theater), Bananas (House of Blue Leaves, Vokes). As a member of the ensemble in SpeakEasy's production of The Women (2006), Shelley won an Irne award. Age range 13-16 Andrew Cavanaugh made his stage debut as the lead in his kindergarten class play. He loved it so much he never looked back! As a student at the Burt Wood School of Performing Arts, he has the distinction of booking professional work from his first audition. Andrew made his Boston debut as David in the Boston Conservatory's production of Rags and his professional debut as Tiny Tim in Trinity Rep's Boston production of A Christmas Carol. Andrew is also an accomplished musician, playing euphonium and electric guitar as well as singing tenor. He was chosen to participate in SEMSBA and Districts the last 3 years and was selected as first chair for 2008 Districts. This past season appeared in Showtime's "Brotherhood" where he plays Charlie Walsh a corrupt street fighting Providence Police officer. Bill DeRusha is a recent graduate of Bentley College and now lives and works in Waltham, MA. He is very excited for his first year in the Actors in Residence program. Bill began his acting career in the first grade where he took on the challenging role of “a blade of grass” as part of the ensemble in Danny the Dark Green Dinosaur. He took a brief hiatus from theatre following that role, citing stress and other school related obligations. It wasn’t until his college years that he began doing more serious acting, and he hasn’t looked back since. While he enjoys stage acting immensely, his true obsession is improv acting. Some of his recent acting credits include: Romeo & Juliet (Paris); Fools (Leon Tolchinsky); Little Shop of Horrors (Audrey II); Rumors (Lenny Ganz); The Complete Wks of Wllm Shakspr abrgd (Daniel). Renée Rossi Donlon
.After six years in New York, Renée is back on her home turf, Boston. Her return was immediately followed by her appearance as “Linda” in Woody Allen’s Play It Again, Sam (The Milton Players). New York credits include Nora (A Doll’s House), May (Fool for Love), Harper (Angels in America), Sunny (The Cheese Shop), etc. She wrote the screenplay for the short film Unspoken Sun and the script for the short play Cards, which was work-shopped at the John Drew Theater’s “Naked Stage.” (She also played the lead in both the film and the play). At times Renée can be found backstage: she was Sound Master for Gary at the Boston Playwrights’ Theater, Technical Coordinator & Stage Manager for the SWAN Day Play Festival, and Sound Coordinator for Playwrights’ Platform’s Summer Play Festival. Franci DuMar is a fifth grader who loves acting, singing and dancing. She has performed in two Open Fields productions (Dover) and has attended their drama camp for two summers. Franci has performed in readings at Playwrights' Platform and she recently played the role of TICK in Away Message on the Word of Mouth live radio drama series for WBRS Brandeis, Waltham. Kamau M. Hashim began his professional acting career in Boston appearing in the Huntington Theatre Company's production of LeBlanc. He then worked with the R.O.S.E. Theatre Company and the Publick Theater Company for several years before moving to New York to continue his training at Circle in the Square a professional acting program. Kamau has appeared on popular television shows such as America's Most Wanted and PBS's Tall Tales as the voice of John Henry. Michael is an actor/director/writer who bears the cross of serious addiction. For some it’s alcohol, others are hooked on crack, some people are addicted to dressing dogs in people clothes; but Mike's addiction is for theater. By day Mike is a mild mannered teacher of Latin and the Classical Humanities at Lynn English High School. At night, when he's done corrupting the youth of America, he likes nothing more than to work in and around the theater (I know, he's sounds like a lame super hero). Mike has been involved in about 16 shows as an actor and director for Devanaugn's Dragonfly Festivals (including playing Karl in Along for the Ride, winner of the Samuel French Festival in 03). He won the Best Actor award for Playwright's Platform's '07 play festival. Peg has done everything in Theatre from cleaning toilets to producing. She holds a M.A. in Performing Arts from Emerson College in Boston and a B.A. in Communications from Bridgewater State College,Bridgewater,MA. Peg has also trained as a film actress with Carolyn Pickman of CP Casting in Boston. She performed in summer stock as part of the resident company of Priscilla Beach Theatre, from 1981 to 82, And from 82 to 07 Peg was Producing Artistic Director of Theatre One Production,Inc. in Middleboro, where she co-produced 13 shows a season, ran a Children's Theatre Workshop and created a 10 min play festival "A Slice of Life." She produced and directed for two seasons, new works from playwrights both local and from all over the country. Theatre One Productions closed in 2007. Peg has taught classes for Theatre and film for Cameo, The Boston Ballet's Summer program fo r Children and John Robert Powers. She has performed on stage with the Huntington Theatre Company, Speakeasy, Cent A stage, and other regional Theatre Companies. Ellen Lokos is delighted to be returning as Actor in Residence with Playwrights’ Platform, where she has performed in Dan Bancroft's Choices and was honored with an audience choice award for her role as Dr. Crystal Ramirez in Frank Shefton's Wounds. Ellen is active in local theater, improv, film, voiceover and commercials. She played the title role in the Boston premier of Edith Stein by Arthur Giron. Other favorite theatrical roles include Flora in A Perfect Analysis Given by a Parrot; Lady in Orpheus Descending; Maggie in The Shadow Box; Sister Mary Ignatius in Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It all for You; and the inimitableMiss Voglia Cannoli in Murder Cacciatore. MARVELYN is honored to be a new Actor in Resident. Originally from Florida, Marvelyn came to Boston to attend Eastern Nazarene College where she graduated with a degree in communications. Since graduating, she has been seen in several plays, industrials, films and commercials. She is a member of Our Place Theatre Project where she recently performed in MOTHER G and FEATHERS ON MY ARM...ZORA NEALE FLYING HIGH as part of the 2009 African American Theatre festival. She has received two Best Supporting actress IRNE nominations for her work with Company One in the roles of Saartjie, in VOYEURS DE VENUS, and Freida/Darlaene, in THE BLUEST EYE. She is a performer/poet in the traveling, spoken word, theatre troupe: ARTiculation, and is also a actor/educator in Deana's Educational Theatre. LIDA MCGIRR Began her acting career at age 7 as leprechaun singing and dancing at Nathan's Hot Dog Stand in Coney Island. She was one of the three found ing members of Little Theater on 26th Street in NY where she performed as the Logician and Mrs. Boeuf in "Rhinoceros." Some of her favorite roles are Martha in "Whose Afraid of Virginia Woolf?", Shirley Valentine in "Shirley Valentine" and Abigail in "The Crucible." She began directing her brothers in Peter Cottontail on the back porch when they were 3 and 1 and has moved on to directing mini-operas in protest of the discontinuation of "Saturday at the Met", entertainment for Romance Novelist Conventions and productions for local theaters. Stuart Meyers is a new theatre artist in the Boston area, having just started his college education as an acting student at Boston University. Stuart hails from South Jersey, where he has performed since the age of six. William (Bill) Miller - Age Range 50’s – 60’s
Bill spent 30 years as an actor performing in theaters across the country. He studied at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio and trained professionally with the Cleveland Playhouse, completing the Equity Apprenticeship/Journeymanship program with CPH. He has appeared in over 80 productions in his career. Bob Mussett has been a Boston-area actor for 9 years, and is pleased as punch to work with the Playwright's Platform. He has previously worked with the development of new plays at the WordBRIDGE Playwright's Laboratory in South Carolina, and the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center in Connecticut. He has used the First Folio 'no rehearsal' approach to Shakespeare in Threadbare Productions' Comedie of Errors and Julius Caesar, and acted as prompter in John Marston's The Malcontent. Richard is an award-winning playwright, poet, artist, journalist, filmmaker and educator. His play “Happily Ever After” was given an honorable mention in the Writer’s Digest script competition. He was a finalist in the grant competition in playwrighting for the Massachusetts Artists Foundation (1976) and recipient of an ARTA (American Regional Theatre Award) best new play award in 1986. Susan serves on the board of Loki Arts in Arlington and has appeared in dozens of stage productions around New England. Most recently, Susan performed in Hair at the Turtle Lane Playhouse and in Cabar7a: The Seven Deadly Sins at the Footlight Club. Some of her favorite roles include Sheila in Hair, Corie in Barefoot in the Park, Larken in Once Upon a Mattress, Emily in Our Town, Peggy in Godspell, Alice in The Secret Garden, and Maggie in A Chorus Line. Susan is featured on seven recordings, including several with the Zamir Chorale of Boston.
